Hey Y’all! Welcome to the first newsletter. We (Austin & Dorothy) super appreciate your support. Our goal is to bring you prospecting tips from the trenches. No ego here. So if you’re currently an SDR or AE, hit us up to be a guest writer.

Okay, enough fluff. On to today’s topic!
“Human Level Prospecting” - It may sound like you’re already doing this, but after this 5 minute read, ask yourself if you truly are.
When you connect w/ a prospect on Linkedin, do you ask something like, “Hey X I’m Y, we do Z, want to meet? Starbies or Lunch on me :) ”
I mean…If I was a broke college freshman, I’d probably take this offer.
But, let’s be real, your prospects are well paid folks whose time is valuable.
More importantly, they’re humans like you and I looking to learn things. Maybe even have a hobby or two.
Let’s take a look at this example with the Head of GTM at Trellus:
Connected w/ a note followed by a genuine question
Being human and creating a genuine dialogue
Creating interest by combining our previous conversation w/ a value prop
See what we didn’t do here? We didn’t pitch right away, but rather sought to understand his role.

Continued to follow up.

Stayed top of mind by posting and interacting with them / chatting about relevant topics.
⬇️
Then they ended up coming inbound a month later :)
Bottom line: not every meeting will come from your first touch, be human, be you, go make connections.
THEN, and only then will the $$$ (Smile with money eyes emoji) come.
